Turn the grinding fineness button to the left to obtain a finer grind. Prepare your beverage by dividing it in 2 cycles by choosing the 2 cup function.
The coffee flows too slowly.Turn the grinding fineness button to the right to obtain a coarser grind (may depend on the type of coffee used). Make one or several rinsing cycles.
The coffee is not creamy enough.Turn the grinding fineness button to the left to obtain a finer grind (may depend on the type of coffee used). Change the Claris Aqua filter (follow instructions page 6). Make one or several rinsing clycles
You used ground coffee instead of coffee beans.Use your vacuum cleaner to remove the ground coffee in the coffee bean container.
The coffee does not come out of the outlet holes.An incident has been detected by the machine during the cycle. The machine automatically runs an initializing cycle and is ready for a new cycle.
The grinder makes a strange noiseThere may be foreign bodies in the grinder or not enough beans. Check that the container is full and free of foreign bodies. Contact your Krups Service Center.
The grind setting button of the mill is hard to turnChange the mill setting only when the grinder is in operation.
Steam does not come out of the nozzle.First turn off your machine and let it cool down: Clean out and unclog the outlet hole with the needle included. Clean out the steam nozzle support pipe with the needle included. Take off the water filter.
Not enough froth on the milk.Check that the steam is able to come out of the nozzle unclog the little air outlet upper lever of the steam nozzle if needed. Use a cold container and freshly opened milk bottle. Change the type (use 1 or 2% milk) or brand of milk as appropriate.
The milk froth is too bubblyCheck that the two ends of the small stainless steel tube fit correctly into the steam nozzle flexible part.
The Auto-Cappuccino accessory does not suck in the milk (accessory sold separately).Check that the tube immersed in the milk is not blocked. Check for correct joining of the flexible tube with the accessory to avoid any air leakage. First turn off your machine and let it cool before clearing the Auto-Cappuccino accessory outlet hole.
You have filled the water tank, but the warning message remains displayed.Check for correct positioning of the tank in the coffee maker. Check that the float at the bottom of the tank moves freely. Rinse the accessory and if necessary remove scale.
The cleaning program refuses to start.Disconnect the machine for 20 seconds then turn on again.
The scale removal program refuses to start.Disconnect the machine for 20 seconds then turn on again.
You have emptied the coffee grounds collector, but the warning message remains displayed.Remove the collector, make certain that it is empty, wait for 6 seconds and then fit it again. Check that the collector is correctly positioned.

A power failure occurred during a cycle.The machine will re-initialise automatically when power is turned on and be ready for a new cycle.
There is water or coffee under the machine.The drip tray is overflowing. Empty and clean the cleaning tray. Check for correct positioning of the drip tray.
A “Fault No. XX" message appears.Disconnect the machine for 20 seconds then bring it back into service. If the failure persists, note the fault number and contact the Krups Service Center.

HOME CAFE KP1000 is a basic model of coffee maker produced by German kitchen appliance manufacturer Krups headquartered in Solingen. The appliance features a Duo Filter, which is a double action anti-chlorine and anti-scaling system of water filtration.


PROBLEMSOLUTION
The brew cycle stops and the indicator light blinks rapidly during brewing :• The water tank is empty and the brew cycle has been interrupted. Fill the water tank. Press ' brew" to begin a new cycle. When you reach the volume required, press " brew" again to end the preparation.
• The circuit is blocked: wait until your coffee maker has cooled down completely, then open the upper lid (C). Check that the pod holders are not blocked. If this is the case, the pod holders should be cleaned. Otherwise, descale the unit.
A large amount of steam is given off during the brewing :• Descale the unit.
The tank is not emptied during the descaling cycle :• Your coffee maker is heavily scaled, repeat the descaling cycle.
You cannot unlock the lid :• Do not force the unlock button, wait until your coffee machine has cooled down completely and then try again. It is sometimes necessary to wait 24 hours before unlocking the lid.
Drinks prepared are not hot:• Descale the unit.
Power cut during the preparation :• Wait until your coffee machine has cooled down completely.
• Throw away the pods, clean the pod supports and the spray heads and run 1 2*9-02 preparation cycle with empty coffee pod supports to rinse your appliance.
Clog• If the nozzle of the pod holder is clogged clean it with a fine needle.
Leaks during the preparation :• Check that lid is properly locked in the holder.
• Check that your pods are correctly positioned in the holders.
• Wipe the seals around the spray heads.
Coffee is not evenly distributed between the 2 cups :• Could be due to the use of 2 different types of coffee pods.
• Descale the unit.
• Check to see if pod holders are not clogged.

Krups KM1000 coffee maker troubleshooting

KM1000 is a household coffee maker produced by the Groupe SEB-owned German company Krups. It features an Auto-Off function that shuts off the machine in 2 hours, as well as a Pause and Serve option, which gives you a chance to pour a cup prior to the completion of the brew cycle.
