AC voltage might not match printer.Make sure the voltage of the AC outlet matches the ratings on the printer.
Printer stops printingYour interface cable might be loose.Check your computer and your cable.
You might be working on an application in the foreground, in which case printing performance might slow down.Printer performance improves if you give your print job priority.
Printout is wrongThere might be a communications problem between the printer and your computer.Make sure your cable connections are secure. Make sure your interface cable is less than 6.6 feet (2.0 m) long. Make sure you are not using a switch box. Check that you have selected the correct printer driver in Windows.
The wrong printer is selected in the Printers folder.Make sure the LBP-810 is selected in the Printers folder.
You might need to modify your BIOS setup.See your computer’s documentation for details. Try changing the parallel port mode or the parallel port address to see if this solves the problem.
Printer locks up systemYour system setup might be a problem.Verify that you have a high- quality shielded interface cable. The problem might be your BIOS. Verify that your BIOS setup is correct. (See your computer’s documentation for details.) Verify that your physical memory is working correctly. If you have a Toshiba laptop, change this line in your CONFIG.SYS file: c:\winutils\mxtime.exe to: REM c:\winutils\mxtime.exe
Computer indicates a device time-outYour computer is sending data to the printer but the printer is not responding. The printer might be off, offline, or not connected to the computer.Make sure the printer is not paused. Check that the printer’s interface cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer. Make sure paper is properly loaded in the paper tray.Reset the printer and computer. Try the print operation again.Try a different cable.
CAPT is not working properlyThe CAPT for LBP-810 is not selected as the default printer driver.Specify the CAPT for the LBP-810 as the default driver.
The software might not be installed properly.Refer to “Using the Trouble Shooter" on page 139. To check that the CAPT is installed correctly, try printing a page from an application. If the print fails, the CAPT is not installed correctly. Remove the CAPT and install it again. For more information, see “Uninstalling the CAPT" on page 141.
Cannot use Adobe Type Manager (ATM) fontsYou might be using the wrong version of Adobe Type Manager.You must be using Adobe Type Manager (ATM) version 2.51 or later.
Cannot print with a printer driver other than the LBP-810The printer driver is connected to the same port as the LBP-810 printer driver.Connect the printer driver to a different port from the LBP-810 printer driver.
CD-ROM Menu doesn’t appear automaticallyAutorun CD- ROM Menu checkbox is unchecked in the CD-ROM menu.Start the CD-ROM menu manually, and check the “Autorun CD-ROM Menu” checkbox.
The Auto insert notification checkbox is unchecked.From the Device Manager make sure that the “Auto insert notification” checkbox is checked in the CD-ROM drive Properties dialog box. For more information, see Windows Help.

There are no photos in memory card.• There are only invalid images on the memory card.
• Photo data edited/processed on the computer should be printed from the computer.
Ink has run out. Replace the ink tank and close the cover. U041The ink has run out (The lamp on the Ink tank flashes).
Replace the Ink tank, and close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover).
If printing is in progress and you want to continue printing, press the [OK] with the Ink tank Installed. Then printing can continue under the Ink out condition. Replace the empty Ink tank immediately after the printing. The machine may be damaged If printing is continued under the Ink out condition.
Print head is not installed The type of print head is Incorrect.Follow the directions given In the Easy Setup Instructions to Install the Print Head. If the Print Head Is already installed, remove the Print Head and reinstall it. If this error still remains, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact the Canon Customer Care Center.
Inner cover is open. Close the Inner cover and press [OK].If the Inner Cover is open when starting normal printing, close it before pressing [OK] on the machine.
Do not open or close the Inner Cover when printing. This may damage the machine.
Some ink tanks are not installed in place. U072/More than one ink tank of the following color is installed. U071Possible causes are as follows:
Some ink tanks are not installed in place.
More than one ink tanks of the same color are installed.
Confirm that the ink tanks are installed in the appropriate positions.

The waste ink absorber is almost full.Ink used for cleaning is absorbed in a waste ink absorber placed in the machine.
Press the [OK] to cancel the error so that you can continue printing. Once the waste Ink absorber becomes completely full, printing cannot be done until the waste ink absorber is replaced.
Canon recommends to contact the Canon Customer Care Center as soon as possible. You will need to replace a particular part of the machine.
The following ink tank cannot be recognized. U140/U043Possible causes are as follows:
• The Ink tank may not be installed properly (The lamp on the ink tank Is off).
Install the appropriate ink tank.
• The ink tank may not be compatible with this machine (The lamp on the ink tank is off).
Install the appropriate ink tank.

The following ink tank cannot be recognized. U150• Ink tank errors have occurred (The lamp on the ink tank is off). Replace the ink tank.

• The Ink tank that is not supported by this machine is installed (The lamp on the ink tank is off).
Install the appropriate ink tank.
See “Replacing an Ink Tank" on page 88.
The remaining level of the following ink cannot be correctly detected. U130An Ink tank that was once empty Is Installed.
Replace the ink tank.
Printing under the situation may damage the Print Head.
Canon shall not be liable for any machine malfunction or damage caused by refilled ink tanks.
If you want to continue printing with the refilled ink tank installed, press and hold the [Stop/Reset] for at least 5 seconds, and then release It Using refilled Ink tanks are memorized.
* This operation will release the function for detecting the remaining ink level.
Incompatible device detected.Disconnect the camera cable, and reconnect it.
Depending on the model or brand of your device, you may have to select a print mode compliant with PictBridge before connecting the camera.
You may also have to turn on the camera or select Play mode manually after connecting the camera to the machine. Perform necessary operations according to the instruction manual supplied with your camera.
If the error is still unresolved, there is a possibility that you are using a digital camera or digital video camcorder that is not supported by this machine. Use a digital camera or digital video camcorder compatible with this machine.
Auto head align has failed.• A4/Letter-sized paper is not loaded on the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Press the [OK] on the machine to clear the error, then load one sheet of A4/Letter-sized paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Automatic head alignment cannot be performed using paper from the Cassette. For automatic Print Head alignment, always load paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
• Print Head nozzles are clogged. Press the [OK] to resolve the error. Print the nozzle check pattern to check the status of the Print Head.
• The Paper Output Slot has been exposed to a strong light source preventing current Print Head alignment. Press the [OK] to resolve the error. Align the Print Head so the Paper Output Slot will not be exposed directly to a strong light source.
After carrying out the above measures, if the problem continues after aligning the Print Head again, press the [OK] to resolve the error, and then perform manual Print Head alignment. For details on manual Print Head alignment, see "Adjusting the Print Head Manually" on page 108.
Error codeAn error requiring servicing might have occurred. Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. After a while, plug the power cord of the machine back In, turn on the machine, and then reconnect the camera to the machine. If the same error occurs, contact the Canon Customer Care Center.
Scanner is not operating correctly.Contact the Canon Customer Care Center.

Canon PIXMA MX700 printer trogubleshootin

If printing is in progress and you want to continue printing, press the OK button with the ink tank installed. Then printing can continue. Replacing the ink tank is recommended after the printing. The machine may be damaged if printing is continued under the ink out condition.

“Print head is not installed. Install the print head." U051/ "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." U052Follow the directions given in your setup sheet to install the Print Head.
If the Print Head is already installed, remove the Print Head once and then reinstall it.
If the error is not resolved, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon service representative.
"Some ink tanks are not installed in place." U072/ “More than one ink tank of the following color is installed." U071Possible causes are as follows:
• Some ink tanks are not installed in the correct position. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.)
• More than one ink tanks of the same color are installed. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.)
Confirm that the ink tanks are installed in the appropriate positions.

Replace the ink tank and close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover).

“The following ink tank cannot be recognized." U043/U140/U150• The ink tank is not compatible with this machine. (The lamp on the ink tank is off.)
Install an appropriate ink tank.

An Ink tank error has occurred. (The lamp on the ink tank is off.)
Replace the ink tank.
See “Replacing an Ink Tank" on page 80.
“The ink has run out. Replace the ink tank." U163Ink has run out. (The lamp on the ink tank flashes.)
Replace the ink tank and close the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover).
Printing under the current condition may damage the machine.
If you want to continue printing in this condition, you need to release the function for detecting the remaining ink level. Press and hold the Stop/Reset button for at least 5 seconds, and then release it.
With this operation, releasing the function for detecting the remaining ink level is memorized. Please be advised that Canon shall not be liable for any malfunction or trouble which may be caused by continuation of printing under the ink out condition.

"There is no photo data .• There are no image data saved on the memory card that can be read by this machine.
• The machine may not recognize the file if the file name or the folder path contains certain characters. Use only alphanumeric characters.
• Photo data edited or processed on a computer must be printed from the computer.
"The waste ink absorber is almost full. Press [OK] to continue but early replacement recommended. The machine has a built-in ink absorber to hold the ink used during Print Head Cleaning, for example.
This error message indicates that the ink absorber is nearly full.
Press the OK button to cancel the error so you can continue printing.
However, because printing is disabled once the ink absorber becomes completely full and until the ink absorber is replaced, you are recommended to contact your Canon service representative as early as possible. (You will need to replace a particular part of the machine.)
"Incompatible device detected. Remove the device.”A communication time out occurs if an operation takes too long or if it takes too much time to send data. This may cancel printing. In such cases, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable. When printing from a PictBridge compliant device, depending on the model or brand of your device, you may have to select a PictBridge compliant print mode on the device before connecting it to the machine. You may also have to turn on your device or select Play mode manually after connecting the device to the machine. Perform necessary operations before connecting your device referring to its instruction manual. If the error is still not resolved, check if you can print another photograph.
"An unsupported USB hub is connected. Remove the hub.”If a PictBridge compliant device is connected via a USB hub. remove the hub and connect it directly to the machine.
Error codeTurn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. After a while, plug the power cord of the machine back in. and then turn on the machine. If the same error occurs, contact your Canon service representative.
"Scanner is not operating correctly."Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. After a while, plug the power cord of the machine back in. and then turn on the machine. If the same error occurs, contact your Canon service representative.
"The card is currently write-enabled. Remove card and set to read-only mode before performing operation.'The Card Slot is set to USB enabled or LAN enabled. You cannot print in this mode. After writing on the memory card, set to Read- only mode again.
"Document in ADF. Redo operation after checking document in ADF and pressing [OK].’The document is jammed in the ADF. Remove the document page jammed in the ADF, then press the OK button. When the error is cleared, redo the operation. See “Document Jams" on page 116.
"Document size is too long. Redo operation after checking document on ADF and pressing [OK]."The document is too long or is jammed in the ADF. Remove the document page jammed in the ADF. then press the OK button. When the error is cleared, make sure that the document you are loading meets the machine’s requirements before redoing the operation. See 'Original Document Requirements' on page 6 and “Document Jams’ on page 116.
"Auto redial”The machine is waiting to redial the recipient’s number because the line was busy or the recipient did not answer when you tried to send a document. Wait for the machine to automatically redial the number. If you want to cancel automatic redialing, wait until the machine starts dialing the number, press the Stop/Reset button, then follow the instructions on the LCD. You can also delete the document from memory. See 'Document Stored in Memory" on page 73.
"Hang up the phone"The handset is not placed in the handset cradle correctly. Replace the handset correctly.
“Try again in black & white.’The recipient’s fax machine is not color-compatible. Press the Black button to resend the faxes. Alternatively, you can set Color TX to Send in black & white.
"Failed to connect."The telephone line cable with a modular plug is not plugged in properly, or Dial tone detect is set to ON. Make sure that the cable is plugged in properly, and resend the fax after a while. If you still cannot send the fax. set Dial tone detect to OFF.
“Received in memory.”If the machine receives a fax under one of the following conditions, the machine will not be able to print the received fax and will store it in its memory. When the problem is resolved as described, the fax stored in memory is printed automatically.
• Ink is low or has run out while receiving a fax: replace the ink tank. See "Replacing an Ink Tank" on page 80.
• Paper has run out while receiving a fax: load the paper and press the OK button.
• Paper Output Tray is closed: open it.
• OFF is selected for Auto print received: select ON.
• You pressed the Stop/Reset button to cancel printing of a fax: press the FAX button.
“Busy/no signal"• The telephone number you dialed is busy.
Try dialing again after waiting for a moment. See “Redialing" on page 64.
• The fax number dialed was incorrect.
Check the fax number and dial again.
• The recipient's fax machine is not working.
Contact the recipient and have them check their fax machine.
• The recipient is not using a G3 machine.
Contact the recipient and ask them to send or receive the document using a G3 machine.
• The touch tone/rotary pulse setting on your machine is incorrect.
Set your machine to the setting that matches your telephone line. See “Setting the Telephone Line Type" on page 45.
• The receiving fax machine did not answer within 55 seconds (after all automatic redialing attempts).
Contact the recipient and have them check their fax machine. For an overseas call, add pauses to the registered number.
"Memory is full."• The machine’s memory is full because you tried to copy either too many pages at once or a very detailed document. Divide the document and copy each part separately.
• The machine’s memory is full because it has received too many documents, or a very long or detailed document. Contact the sender and have him/her divide and resend them.
“The paper size is not correct. Change the page size you have set.’Paper of size other than A4. Letter, or Legal is loaded. When feeding from the Rear Tray, load A4. Letter, or Legal-sized paper. When feeding from the Front

The printer’s power button is blinking red.
There is a malfunction in the printer. The {PictBridge)! ^ {Canon Direct Print) icon does not display in the upper left corner of the LCD monitor.• Turn the printer’s power off and turn it on again.
The cable is not correctly connected.• Connect the cable correctly (p. 31).
The printer’s power is off.• Turn the printer’s power on (p. 31).
Your camera’s firmware is incompatible with this printer.• Please check the Canon BeBit website (http:// web.canon.jp/lmaging/BeBit-e.html), or your regional Canon website, for information or to download compatible firmware.
Printing from the memory card is in progress or printing connected to a computer is in progress.• Wait until the print outputted.
The printer does not print.
The printer is not correctly connected to the camera.• Connect the cable correctly (p. 31). If the connection is correct, the Q or Q icon will appear on the camera’s LCD monitor.
The camera’s batteries are depleted.• Replace with fully charged battery pack or a fresh batteries, or plug the camera into a power outlet (using the camera’s optional compact power adapter).
The ink cassette is not loaded correctly.• Load the ink cassette correctly (p. 27).
Too much slack in the ink cassette’s ink sheet.• Take up the slack (p. 27).
The paper cassette is not pushed all the way in.• Load the paper cassette correctly (p. 29).
The printer has overheated.• Wait for the printer to cool down.
Printing stopped midway.
The printer is not correctly connected to the camera.• Connect the cable correctly (p. 31).
The printer's power button lights red without the camera's LCD monitor displaying any error message.
There is a malfunction in the printer.• Remove the paper from the paper-handling slot and take up any slack in the ink sheet. Turn the printer's power off and turn it on again.
Print quality is not good.
You are not using the correct paper type.• Use the designated paper type.
Paper is loaded with the wrong side up.• Load the paper correctly (p. 28).
The ink sheet or paper is dirty.• Use a clean ink sheet and clean paper.
Condensation has formed inside the printer.• Wait for condensation to evaporate (p. 15).
Printed images are distorted.
The printer is too close to a TV, video game machine, or other electromagnetic source.• Move the printer so that it is at least 1 meter (3.3 ft.) away from the electromagnetic source.
The printer is too close to a stereo speaker, large motor, or other strong magnetic source.• Move the printer away from the strong magnetic source.
There is not enough ink left for the allotted sheets in the set.
You turned the printer’s power on and off repeatedly.• Please avoid turning the printer's power on and off needlessly.
You pulled on the ink sheet.• Do not pull on the ink sheet by force.
You tore or bent the paper's perforated edges before printing.• Do not tear or bend the paper's perforated edges.
You removed the ink cassette when paper run out while the printer was printing more than one sheet of paper.• Load paper into the paper cassette without removing the ink cassette.
Frequent paper jams.
The paper cassette is overloaded.• Do not load more than 18 sheets of paper into the cassette. Do not insert more than 12 sheets of wide size paper (100 x 200 mm (4x8 in.)) in the paper cassette.
The print output receptacle is too full.• Do not allow more than 9 sheets to accumulate in the receptacle.
Paper is creased or curled.• Do not use paper that is creased or curled.
Faint stripes appear in the print.
Dust has accumulated inside the printer.• Remove the dust inside the printer using the cleaner stick (p. 57).
“?” instead of the image is displayed on the LCD monitor. (CP710 only)
“?” is sometimes displayed depending on the image.• Printing is sometimes unsuccessful if you try to print an image.
The image selected on the LCD monitor is not printed. (CP710 only)
When the list of images is printed, the index print contains an image displayed as “?" instead of the image. (CP710 only)
You tried to print the following images:
- An image taken with a different camera or recorded in a different type
- An image altered by a computer
- An image data size that is too big
- An image whose data is corrupted
• Check the size of the image you are trying to print and the number of recorded pixels on the camera, and convert the image to JPEG compressed type that can be displayed on the camera. Limit the size of image files to less than 8000 x 6000 pixels.
