All dishwashers have two water filters.
The first one is a filter for a water supply valve or an inlet filter. It cleans the tap water which comes into the appliance from sand, metal salts and all sorts of impurities.
The second filter purifies water coming out of the dishwasher. It prevents clogs in the drain hose and in the circular pump and protects the sewage system.

It is not difficult to find the filter if you pull out all the racks from the dishwasher. It is located under the lower spray arms and looks like a cup inserted into the bottom. Turn it clockwise or simply pull it out of the housing.
Once removed, the filter can be easily disassembled into parts and washed under tap water. When cleaning the filter, it is recommended to clean the entire tub (especially its bottom) as well as spray arms from the grime.
This filter gets clogged much less often than the previous one, but it still requires attention.
The more dirty and hard water you have in your house, the more often the inlet filter needs to be removed and cleaned.
Due to clogs in the filter and inlet valve malfunctions that it entails, the dishwasher stops filling water or does it very slowly.
