No display on panel or any one of the buttons failure. Transformer (Discharge transformer before testing) Check resistance between the two input/output lines on transformer. Replace the transformer if either of the input/output is open or the transformer is damaged.
Remote control failure. Display board or main PCB failure Check the voltage of display board. Replace the display board if it is +5V else replace the main PCB.
Battery failure Check the voltage of battery. Replace batteries if the voltage is lower than 2.3V.
Stop instantly after startup. Refrigerant The amount of the refrigerant is too much, making the compressor load too big. Recycle and recharge the refrigerant after checking for the reason.
Compressor The compressor is seized. Replace after checking for the reason.
Fan motor will not run. Transformer (Discharge transformer before testing) Check resistance between the two input/output lines on transformer. Replace the transformer if either of the input/output is open or the transformer is damaged.

Power supply cord Check voltage at the power cord terminal on Main PCB. Replace the power cord if none.
Wire disconnected or connection loose Connect wire. Repair or replace loose terminal.
Main PCB failure Select fan speed and Check the voltage on main PCB. Replace the main PCB if no voltage in all three.
Capacitor (Discharge capacitor before testing) Test capacitor. Replace if not within +/-10% of manufacture’s rating. Replace if shorted, open or damaged.
Will not rotate Fan blade hitting shroud or blower hitting scroll. Realign assembly. Check fan motor bearings. Replace the motor if motor shaft do not rotate.
Fan motor noise. Fan Replace the fan if cracked, out of balance, or partially missing.
Blower Replace the blower if cracked, out of balance, or partially missing.
Loose screws Tighten them.
Worn bearings Replace the motor if knocking sounds continue when running or loose, or the motor hums or noise appears to be internal while running.

Wiring Check the terminals. Repair and correct if loose.
Temperature setting Check and adjust the temperature setting.
Mode setting Check and adjust the mode setting.
Main PCB Check the voltage of main PCB. Replace the main PCB when the unit failure in heating mode.

Phenomenon Troubleshooting
The unit can not be started up: • Is the power connected?
• Is the power plug loose? (if applicable)
• Is the circuit protection device tripped off?
• Is voltage higher or lower? (Tested by professionals)
• Is the TIMER correctly used?
Cooling/Heating effect is poor: • Is temperature setting appropriate?
• Is the inlet or outlet blocked?
• Is the filter dirty?
• Is low fan speed set?
• Are there heat sources in the room?
Remote controller is not working: • Check the conditions of the batteries and replace them if necessary.
• Check if there is magnetic or electrical interference near the unit that may affect operation of the controller. In this case, pull the plug out and reinsert it.
• Is the remote controller within its operating range or obstructed?
• Check if the remote controller is damaged.
Water leakage of indoor unit: • The humidity is high.
• Condensing water overflows.
• Drain hose is loose or blocked.
Water leakage of outdoor unit: • During cooling operation, water condensate is generated around the pipes and connection joints.
• During defrosting operation, the thaw water flows out. This is normal
Noise from indoor unit: • The noise emitted when the fan or compressor relay is switched on or off.
• Dirty filters will cause the fan to vary in speed. At this time please clean filters.
The unit does not operate: • The unit does not operate if it is turned on immediately after it is turned off.
“Water flowing” noise: • The swishing noise like water flowing is the refrigerant flowing inside the unit.
Mist is emitted in COOL mode: • During cooling operation, a thin mist may be seen emitted from the indoor unit due to high room temperature and humidity. After a period of time, the mist will disappear with the decrease of room temperature and humidity.

Failure Possible Reasons
The unit cannot be started. 1. The power supply is not connected.
2. Electrical leakage of air-conditioning unit causes tripping of leakage switch.
3. The operating buttons are locked.
4. The control loop has failure.
The unit operates for a while and then stops. 1. There is obstacle in front of the condenser.
2. The control loop is abnormal.
3. Cooling operation is selected when the outdoor ambient temperature is above 43°C.
Poor cooling effect. 1. The air filter is dirty or blocked.
2. There is heat source or too many people inside the room.
3. The door or window is open.
4. There is obstacle at the air intake or outlet.
5. The set temperature is too high thus cooling is hindered.
6. There is refrigerant leakage.
7. The performance of room temperature sensor becomes worse.
Poor heating effect 1. The air filter is dirty or blocked.
2. The door or window is not firmly closed.
3. The set room temperature is too low thus heating is hindered.
4. There is refrigerant leakage.
5. The outdoor ambient temperature is lower than -5’C.
6. Control line is abnormal.

Power off It will restart when power is on
Loose plug Put the plug into place
Batteries of remote controller fall Replace batteries
Out of the remote controlling range Keep distance in 10 m or less
Operation stops suddenly There is obstacle at the air intake or outlet. Remove it
The unit fails to cool (or heat) the room effectively There is obstacle at the air intake or outlet. Remove it

SYMPTOM REMEDY (not a malfunction)
Odors and smoke are not removed. • Clean or replace the filters if they appear to be heavily soiled.
The CLEAN-SIGN Light illuminates green even when the air is impure. • The air could be impure at the time the unit was plugged in. Pull out the plug from the electrical outlet, and insert the plug one minute later.
The CLEAN-SIGN Light illuminates orange or red even when the air is clean. • The sensitivity of the sensors become unstable when the opening of the odour sensor or dust sensor is dirty or is clogged. Clean the dust around the sensor opening using a vacuum cleaner.
A clicking or ticking sound is heard from the unit. • Clicking sound or ticking sound is emitted when the unit is generating ions.
The discharged air has an aroma or odour. • Check to see if the filters are heavily soiled. Replace the filters.
• Plasmacluster Air Purifiers emit small traces of ozone which may produce an odour. These ozone emissions are well below safety levels.
The unit does not operate when cigarette smoke is in the air. • Is the unit installed in a location that is difficult for the sensor to detect cigarette smoke?
• Are the dust or odour sensor openings blocked or clogged? (In this case, clean the openings.)
The MIST Filter Indicator Light remains activated even after replacing filter. • After replacing filters, connect the power cord to an outlet and press the Mist Filter Reset Button.
The Plasmacluster Indicator Light or the CLEAN-SIGN Light will not activate. • Check to see if the Lights OFF Mode selected. If so, then press the Plasmacluster ON/OFF Button for 3 seconds to activate the indicator lights.
Plasmacluster Indicator Light repeat colour cycles between light and shade. • The ION SHOWER operation is working.
The Mist Filter Indicator Light does not turn on even water is in. • Please check if the impurities adhered to the surface of the Float. Clean the Mist Tray.
• Check to see if the Main Unit is put on a inclined surface.
When the water of the tank does not decrease or the decrease of the water is slow. • Check to see if the Mist Tray and Tank are installed correctly.
• Check the Mist Filter. Replace the filter when it is heavily soiled.
The CLEAN-SIGN LIGHT switches frequently. • The CLEAN-SIGN Light will automatically switches the colours when detected by dust and odour sensors.
