5 common Bosch dishwasher failures and how to fix them

The machine automatically fills with water when switched off

The problem is most often associated with the water supply valve. It gets stuck in the open position, after which water freely enters inside. This happens even when the machine is turned off. This usually happens after the solenoids are stuck, which is caused by the buildup of calcium carbonate in hard water. We recommend using dishwashing detergents that soften the water.
If the valve passes a small amount of water, this is not a reason to relax. In a matter of hours, it will reach the mesh of the fine filter, after which it will rise above its level.
How to fix the problem: buy a new valve and replace the old one. This item is not repairable. Order the part directly from the company or from authorized Bosch service centers.
Dirty water enters the dishwasher
An equally common problem that leads to leaks and unsanitary conditions. With a high degree of probability, it is caused by damage to the check valve, the task of which is to ensure the removal of water from the machine. If it is damaged, part of the waste water is returned back.
We noticed such a problem in ourselves – pay attention to the check valve. On some models, it is located inside the tank of the machine in close proximity to the drain pump.
To replace a valve:
- Open the dishwasher door.
- Remove the lower basket in which the dirty dishes are placed.
- Remove the bottom atomizer. It sprays the incoming water, evenly irrigating the dishes placed in the basket.
- Remove the strainer basket and the filter itself.
- Remove the check valve. To do this, use a flat head screwdriver.
Place the new siphon valve in place of the old one. To make sure it is firmly fixed, press it. Assemble the components in reverse order.
Water drain problem
During normal operation of the machine, dirty water must be drained from the inside almost completely. A small residue (up to 1 cm) is allowed to prevent the sealing gums from drying out and increase their service life.
If there is more water than needed, it is necessary to check the system for blockages, and until this moment do not use the dishwasher.
By the way, before starting work, make sure that the drain hose is not pinched somewhere.
The sequence of steps:
- Remove filter and drain. If the volume of water is high, scoop it out using a container and a rag.
- Take another dry rag or paper towel, put it in the drain of the machine, clean out all the debris.
- Take a screwdriver and unscrew the nut. Remove the part to access the impeller (impeller).
- Move the impeller to make sure it is not stuck. If there is trash, take it out.

Water does not enter the dishwasher

The machine does not dry dishes
